Your attention is more valuable than gold in 2026Don't let others monetize it

How many hours do you look at your phone every day?

2 hours a day is 2.5 years of your waking life in the next 20 years

What it takes from you

  • 1,825 books you will never read. About 91 a year
  • Every dinner with the people you love, for 20 years
  • $292,000 you worked for free, at $20 an hour

Assumptions: 238 words a minute (Brysbaert, 2019), 90,000-word books, 8 hours a book, 16 waking hours a day, $20 an hour.

45 min

Once. Some iPhones add a one-hour security wait first

Here's how it works

Video coming: the whole setup in 90 seconds
1 - Supervision

Required. Supervision is a device mode Apple built for schools and companies. It makes the profile unremovable and lets iOS hide apps. Apple's official way erases the phone; our guide keeps everything. About 45 minutes, once.

How to supervise without erasing
2 - A profile, not an app

iPhones accept configuration profiles, the same files companies use to manage work phones. This tool builds one for you in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

3 - Apps

iOS can hide apps by their bundle id. Hidden apps can still be downloaded from the App Store, but the icon never appears and they cannot open.

4 - Websites

The profile turns on iOS's built-in web filter with your list of blocked sites. It works in every browser on the phone.

It works, we did it many times

Two months on it

The builder has run this on his own iPhone since July 2026. Screen time is down to 1.5 hrs from 5.5 hrs.

40 minutes, nothing lost

A second iPhone on iOS 26.6.1 went from normal to supervised with every photo, message and login intact.

Blocked means blocked

A downloaded Instagram stays hidden and never opens. We tried.

Step 1

Supervise your iPhone

It takes about 45 minutes, once, and keeps all your data.

Step 2

Build your profile

We recommend to block all these apps

Restrictions

Off by default. A trial profile can be removed in Settings. Turn it off and download again when you are ready to commit.

More settings

Turning it off also stops app updates; banks and airlines break. Blocking apps by name is usually better.

Install it

  1. Download the profile.
  2. AirDrop it to the iPhone, or send it by email or Messages.
  3. On the iPhone: Settings > Profile Downloaded > Install.

Blocked apps still download from the App Store, but they stay hidden and will not open.

Frequently asked questions

Will I lose my data?
No. The supervision step patches a backup and restores it to the same phone. Apps re-download; an encrypted backup carries your saved passwords, Health data and keychain, so fewer of them ask you to log in again. Keep a local backup on your Mac anyway. It is faster than iCloud and you can restore it in one click.
Can I undo it?
Yes. Remove the profile from Settings if the phone is not supervised. On a supervised phone, erasing the phone removes supervision; restore from iCloud or your local backup after.
Can I change the profile later?
You can always add restrictions by installing another profile. You cannot loosen or remove one without erasing the phone. Start with the recommended list; add later if needed. Each download is a new profile; installing another one adds to what is already blocked. Want to try first? Turn on trial mode and the profile stays removable.
Will my banking apps keep updating?
Yes. The App Store stays on. Only the apps you list disappear.
What about WhatsApp, Maps, my bank?
Untouched. You choose the list. We only suggest the feeds.
Is this Apple approved?
It uses Apple's own configuration profiles and backup format. The no-wipe supervision trick is not documented by Apple; it works on iOS 26.6.1 today.
I don't have a Mac
You need a Mac once, for about an hour. Borrow one. The profile needs no Mac afterwards.
What about Android?
Not yet. Android has no settings file like this; blocking that holds needs a small device-owner app, which is a different build. We plan to add it. Until then this site is iPhone only, and Digital Wellbeing limits still rely on your willpower.
Does it work from a Windows PC?
Not yet. The supervision tool runs on a Mac today. Windows makes the same backup through iTunes, so support is planned. Until then, borrow a Mac once; the phone needs no computer afterwards.
